Your ship has just arrived in the European country of Denmark! One of the things that Denmark is famous for is the Vikings, an 8th century A.D. culture famous for its many sea voyages. Since your friends and family back home know nothing about the exciting history of the Vikings, it's YOUR job to explain it all to them! Let's get started!


1) The Vikings didn't just live in Denmark; what other countries were they found in?
2) The Vikings wrote in "runes". At Write Your Names in Runes, you can read all about runes, and then you can translate YOUR name into runes. Make sure to copy it down in your log!
3) The Vikings made a lot of voyages. In your log, draw a map, and then trace the routes that the Vikings travelled.
4) Check out some of the suggested websites, and tell us about the Viking ships. What were they used for? How were they made? Don't forget to include a picture.
5) The Vikings had many myths and legends. Surf through some of the suggested websites, and find one that you find espescially interesting. Copy it down in your log for you family back home.
