ICE BREAKER ACTIVITIES
Ice breakers are activities especially designed to get new groups to know each other.  Before starting any
major activity group leaders should use ice breakers to begin cohesiveness within the group.

MOVING SPOT LIGHT - The group stands in a circle.  Select a person to begin.  Ask them to
introduce the person to the right, so that person can be "spotlighted".  Continue around the group and
have each person in the circle, cite something they admire about the person in the spotlight.  Once
everyone contributes a compliment, spotlight the next person.

ME TOO! - Group members find a partner they don't know.  They must discover at least 3 things outside
of their profession that they have in common.  During introductions, partners reveal their commonalties.

FAMOUS COUPLES MATCH-UP - Each person gets a card.  The group mingles to find their famous
partner.  Once a partner is found, individuals interview each other so they can introduce the partner to the
group.

TRUTH, TRUTH, LIE - Each individual tells 3 things about himself.  Two things must be true and one
thing a lie.  The group will then guess what the lie is.

JELLYBEAN SHARING - Individuals scoop jellybeans into their cup and then wait to eat them until
given the go-ahead.  As introductions begin, instruct each person to pool their jellybeans onto their
napkin.  Using a pre-identified attribute poster for reference, individuals introduce themselves and share
information based on their jellybean colours.

M&M TRICK - Encourage each member of the group to take as many m&m's as they want.  However,
they must wait to eat them until after introductions.  To begin the meeting, ask each person to count the
number of m&ms they took.  During introductions, each member must share one tidbit of information for
each m&m they took.

FORTUNE COOKIE KICKOFF - Each person states their name, then they read their fortune and share
it with the group.  Ask each person to elaborate if the fortune rings true or false.  The more humour the
better.

ZIP ZAP - The group stands in a circle with one person in the middle as "it".  "It" points to one person in
the group.  That person drops to their knees and says, "ZIP!"  People standing on either side of the ZIP
person, must turn to face each other, point their fingers like a gun and yell, "ZAP!"  The slowest person
becomes "it".

BABBLE-DE-BOO-BAH - Group stands in a circle, one person is "it".  "It" points to one person and
says, "You," "Me," "Left," or "Right."  If "It" says, "Left," the person "it" points to must say the person
on their lefts name and babble-de-boo-bah before "it" can say the same.  The slowest person becomes it.
