Bio: Hello! My name is Jessica Toste and I am a PhD student in the Department of Educational & Counselling Psychology (ECP). I have been involved with the EGSS since I began graduate studies at McGill. I had the privilege of serving as President for two years (2006-2008), as well as a representative on numerous committees at the department, faculty, and university-levels. These experiences have given me the opportunity to get to know many graduate students in Faculty of Education and become familiar with our programs and policies. I am looking forward to taking on the role of VP Academic this year. I believe that my experience with research, academic programs, and professional service will allow me to build on the work the EGSS has already begun – specifically, continuing to support student funding and opportunities that will enhance our academic training (e.g., specialized workshops/seminars, demystifying the job search, publishing). Wishing you a successful year!

of EGSS;
In cooperation with the Executive Committee, manage the funds of EGSS

Bio: Hello, there!! This is your VP-Finance of 2009-2010 at EGSS. My name is Xi LI and I am really a newcomer on the EGSS executive; definitely, I will try my best to finish all the job as well as help out for EGSS. I am currently a second-year Masters student in Second Language Education. As you can tell, I am from China and I speak Mandarin, English and functional French; I am a very active person in my spare time; I love hanging out with my friends, going to sing karaoke and traveling. My favorite quote is "all work no play makes Jack a dull boy" and I do admire the adage "work hard and play hard." Having the honor of serving as Vice President-Student Life for 2009-2010 academic year, I will try my best to make your study and life a rich and colorful one. If you have any good ideas about student life, please don't hesitate to let me know.

I served in the role of VP of Diversity & Equity last year as a master’s student, and I was a member of the EGSS conference committee. My last term as VP Diversity & Equity was a real learning experience and it allowed me to better understand the faculty and some of the needs and desires of our graduate student body. With this understanding, I plan to be even more effective in meeting those needs and desires. I feel that there are many opportunities for the EGSS, however, I do not see my role as being individual but instead collective - ideally including the participation of many students from diverse backgrounds. I hope that other students who are interested in getting involved will contact me to collaborate to improve our faculty’s attention to issues of diversity and equity!

| Bio:
My name is Colin Campbell. I am originally from Prince Edward Island and completed my undergrad there. I have completed my first year of my MA in School Psychology at McGill. An EGSS councilor from last year suggested that I run this year. Student involvement is an interest of mine, since I started up a psychology club basically from scratch at UPEI. I hope to take my knowledge from past experiences to the EGSS as a department representative.
