is led by Tina Hausen For grades 4 9
Hélène Tremblay of Abitibi, Quebec, a world traveller,
photographer and philosopher, founder of Families of the World www.fdmfow.org
writes: ...it is within the family, the microcosm of our
society, that are bred the feelings that give rise to hatred, violence
and war... it is also within the family that peace on Earth will
arise. Today, with the survival of the Earth and of mankind at stake,
the family has the obligation to participate in the awakening of
the world citizen.
In this activity you will discover the extraordinary diversity of
living
conditions and cultures throughout East Asia, Southeast Asia and
the Pacifi c to contribute to the development of a global consciousness,
an essential component for the emergence of a more peaceful world.
You will be introduced to the materials and activities of Families
of the World. You may meet Hélène Tremblay. There
could be a slide presentation or a video and we will get involved
in a related project of your choice.
This activity will be offered in weeks 3 and 4 as Families of the
