Have a Blast — Experiment with Science!
is led by Cheryl Contant — For grades 4 – 6

The main focus of the science sessions is to have a BLAST doing science experiments in the lab. Have you ever wondered about the science behind the ancient Egyptian process of mummification? Have you ever wondered how electricity works, what an underwater volcano would look like or why the sun often turns a lovely orange or red when it sets at dusk? Have you ever dreamed of working in a science laboratory? In this session you begin each day with a new science experiment.

Come have a BLAST as we learn to mummify an apple (NO PETS PLEASE!), make electricity from lemons, make beautiful crystals, make lightning, make a rainbow, make ice cream the old-fashioned way and much more. We will experiment with light, plants, air, gases, water, liquids, colors, electricity, motion and machines! Campers will be challenged as they work in super teams, choose from a variety of experiments, build models, make discoveries and use scientifi c tools while having a BLAST! At the end of the session you will be invited to bring your experiments home for the summer.
