Intermediate Program
Local
Decisions, Local Leaders 1
is led by Michael Zackon For grades 4 9
Do you
ever wonder who decides when your street gets cleared of snow? Or
why your friends have their garbage picked up on a different day
than you do? The answer is that your local municipality makes these
and many other important, but often overlooked, decisions.
Join us for an inside
look at what makes a city tick, and how you can get involved and
infl uence decisions that affect you every day! In Local Decisions,
Local Leaders, campers will learn about the relationship between
the municipal and other levels of government, the duties of municipal
government, the importance of community groups and civic involvement,
and they will (hopefully) get to meet with CDN-NDG borough council
members.
This activity will be repeated in weeks 3 and 4 as Local Decisions,
Local Leaders 2
