Intermediate Program
Origami
is led by Annick OShaugnessy For
grades 4 9
This activity will introduce campers to the Japanese art of paper
folding. Origami is fun and requires only paper and some patience
to produce quite impressive sculptures. The group will progress
from simple folds to more complex models. We will turn ordinary
sheets of paper into fl apping birds, cranes, sailboats, wreaths,
sonobe jewels, cubes, double dice, ninja stars, kaleidoscope fl
owers, several modular models, star of David, letter folds, and
business card structures, along
with many more. New models are added each year for returning
students. The technical jargon of Origami will be used throughout
the class enabling a student to pick up a book and follow the directions
for themselves afterwards. Come and join us in transforming a simple
piece of paper into something quite amazing. Beginning and more
advanced folders are welcome.
Returning students are always welcome to sharpen their skills or
learn new models added each year to the program or delve into my
large collection of books.
This activity will be repeated in weeks 3 and 4 as Origami 2
