Paper
PlayPaper Architecture 1
is
led by Vida Simon For grades 4 9
Because it is so easy to transform, paper is a fabulous material for
building on a small scale. Come construct imaginative miniature buildings
using recycled papers (such as photographs from old books) along with
translucent papers that let light shine through. Cut, fold, cut some
more, glue, to create intriguing 3D spaces. These precious buildings
will be an opportunity to investigate space (depth, inside/outside),
and the play of light, shadow, and illusion. You can arrive with a
design in mind, or work spontaneously, as you go along. At the end
of the workshop we will display the buildings together to form a miniature
city.

This activity will be repeated in weeks 3 and 4 as Paper
