English as a Second Language (Ages 9-18)
Hours:
Half days: 8:30am -11:45 am
Full day: 8:30am - 4:00 pm
Extended day Program: 4:00pm -6:00pm
The Junior Program, ages
4-8 is for campers entering pre-kdg. to those entering grade
3 in September. These campers are grouped according to grade level
and they stay together as a group all day. Their teacher selects
a theme and through music, art, literature, drama, science, etc.,
the group explores the theme. The group always stays together and
is always supervised by a teacher.
English Immersion: Students younger than Grade 4 are integrated
in the regular Junior Program. They follow the theme-oriented program
and are immersed in English.
Intermediate Program
(Ages 9-15 )is for campers entering grade 4 to grade 9.
In this section campers select the activities they wish to participate
in. There are 3 activities a day for 2 weeks and then 3 other activities
for the next 2 weeks.
Senior Program (Ages 15-18)is
made up of campers who will be entering grades 10 or 11 in September.
These students follow the Panorama of the Sciences Program which
is located at McGill University. Professors and graduate students
in fifteen departments of the faculties of science, medicine, engineering
and agriculture introduce campers to current research, and there
are off-campus visits to the research facilities of the Montreal
Botanical Gardens, a pharmaceutical company, a meteorological station,
and the Canadian Space Agency.

Theatre
Project ( Ages 12-18), A new , four-week Theatre Project
in collaboration with the Geordie Theatre School is being offered.
Through a series of workshops and rehearsals based on campers' interests,
participants will develop a theatrical presentation to be performed
at the end of the program. All aspects of theatre will be explored.
English as a Second Language ( Ages 9-18
)
Designed for children who are true beginners in English. The goal
is for students to become more confident in speaking the second
language and to develop a greater facility in expressing themselves
in English. Parents will be invited to witness their child's progress
during class Presentations.
