INTERMEDIATE PROGRAM AGES 12-18

THE THEATRE PROJECT . FOR SECONDARY 1 TO 5 STUDENTS FOR 4 WEEKS ONLY
is led by Juliette Lord — For 2 or 4 weeks

Exciting, inspiring, and above all — fun! Do
you love to be on stage? Do you ever go to see a
show or watch programs on television or fi lms and think, “I could do that!”? Here is your opportunity! Explorations 4-week theatre intensive will get you up on your feet and acting right away. 4 weeks in two parts, accommodates everyone's July schedule! During the first two weeks, campers will learn vocal and movement exercises and participate in theatre-driven activities vital to developing their inner thespians. We will create our own characters and scenes inspired by literature, pop culture, and current events. Campers will all contribute to a collective creation to be presented to parents and other campers on the second Friday of the camp.

In the second half of the month, campers move on to working with text, developing monologues as well as rehearsing and producing a 40-minute play that will be presented to parents and campers on the fourth Friday of the camp. In addition to intensive acting work, campers will trek out into our fair city every Tuesday to experience some of the cultural treasures Montreal has to offer. Every Thursday will be dedicated to journeying to a different pool or beach for swimming and sunshine.

Geordie Theatre Productions

Geordie Productions is a professional theatre company which has been presenting live English theatre for both young and adult audiences since 1982. Always energetically breaking new ground and reaching new audiences, Geordie typically delivers between 200 and 300 shows per season to some 85,000 people whose mother tongues include English, French, Mohawk and Cree.

Based in Montreal, Quebec, the Company tours extensively across Quebec to school audiences, visiting the Lower North Shore, the Gaspésie, the Magdalen Islands, the Abitibi and Outaouais regions, and James Bay. In addition, Geordie regularly tours Ontario, the Maritimes, and Labrador, as well as Western Canada. We're also a hit in the Northeastern United States. Geordie has even been "on top of the world", performing in the most northerly settlement on earth - as close to the North Pole as a theatre company can go!
