The research team examines resiliency factors and social-emotional functioning in youth with learning disabilities, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and/or childhood depression. In addition, we have an active research program investigating non-suicidal self-injury among adolescents and young adults.

Biography
Dr. Nancy Heath is a Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University. She is a professor in the School/Applied Child Psychology program and the Director of programs in Human Development, Inclusive Education, and General Educational Psychology. Her research program explores resilience and adaptive functioning in youth at-risk. She is a founding member of the International Society for the Study of Self-Injury (ISSS) and an elected Fellow in the International Academy for Research in Learning Disabilities (IARLD). In 2004, she was awarded the William Dawson Scholar Award at McGill for outstanding research and contributions to the field.
