Faculty Members please note the following changes: 

RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE AND OTHER CHANGES

Following the restructuring of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research into the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (OGPS) and the Office of the VP (Research) (OVPR), the internal grants programs of the old Research Development Fund have had to be either terminated or moved to other constituencies, viz.,

Individual New Researchers: Moved to the Research Development Committee (OVPR)

Centre Support: Moved to the Research Development Committee (OVPR)

New Collaborative Research Initiatives: Moved to the Research Development Committee (OVPR)

Bridge Funding for Graduate Students: Moved to Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (OGPS)

Computer/Equipment Loans: Terminated

 Please note the following important changes:

1. The Research Development Fund of the old Faculty of Graduate Studies and  Research has been replaced by the Research Development Committee of  the Office of the VP (Research).

2. The internal grants programs for Individual New Researchers, Centre Support and New Collaborative Research Initiatives fall under the Research Development Committee. The details pertaining to these programs will be reinstated on the RGO website shortly.  The first deadline for the coming academic year has been changed from August 15  to September 15, 2002.

3. Applications for all three programs under the Research Development Committee should be sent to the RGO, c/o Vera Milbradt. Note that only one copy of the application is required.

To Dean Ratna Ghosh, members of the Faculty of Education, and member of the staff:

This note is to thank you for including me in the Faculty of Education celebration on May 22nd, and for the generous gift certificate from the McGill Bookstore. Well, I chose my gift last week: it is a very beautiful gold-plated watch, with a black leather strap and McGill imprinted on a gold face.

I will always wear it with pride, and with kind thoughts of all of you. I am really learning to enjoy each day of retirement. Someone at Westmount Bowling Club mentioned it would take about a year to get used to the idea that I don't have to go into the office. I told them that makes it sound as if working is a bad habit, a kind of addiction!!
