2 SCTP Note to All Chairs, Directors and Program Directors

Please note that all changes of modality reporting must be approved by Faculty before submission to the Subcommittee on Courses and Teaching Programs. The changes must include an appropriate program proposal form indicating Faculty approval. Any International Project must include a detailed budget, list of human resources, and a copy of the memorandum of understanding or agreement.

3 Nominations Update & Reminder

To date we have received or anticipate receiving three nominations, and one sabbatical leave has been delayed. The nominations are as follows:

Roy Lyster, for Faculty Council
Spencer Boudreau for Faculty Council
Helen Amoriggi for Committee on Academic Personnel
Only one sabbatical replacement is needed for Senate

Members are still needed for the following committees. Please get your nominations to us by 4:30 pm Friday March 28, 2003

4 Fire Alarm System

We wish to advise you that a new fire alarm system is presently being installed in the Education building. Work has commenced and will continue until May 31, 2003. Every effort will be made cause as little inconvenience to classroom, exam and work schedules.

5 Security Cameras / Access

You’ve heard the rumors, but it is now official. We are pleased to announce that the access card reader and appropriate security measures are now functional.  All academic faculty members, Administrative Assistants and graduate students now have 24-hour access to the building via the North side handicap entrance. Any revisions in access must come through this office; please contact Joanne Hall, Joanne.hall@mcgill.ca, who is the Access Manager for the Education Building.

6 Congratulations & Many Thanks

7 Congratulations to the Homecoming Committee of the Advisory Board

Gordon Bloom, Elizabeth Wood & Diane Mittermeyer, have put together another exciting panel of speakers to address a subject that will undoubtedly be of interest to our alumni and all educators because of its multi-disciplinary approach. Kim Cornish, Greg Reid & Mela Sarkar will discuss "Who is Special? New Trends in Educating for a Diverse World" on Friday, October 17, 2003, at 6:00 p.m. in at the Faculty of Education, 3700 McTavish St. (1st Floor) Jack Cram Auditorium.
