1 International Office - Dr. Paul Clark

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Paul Clark has taken up the challenge to be the new Executive Director of the International Office in the Faculty of Education. Dr. Clark brings extensive educational development experience from East and Southeast Asia and we have high hopes for increasing the presence of the Faculty internationally.

Dr. Rachel Keyserlingk, who has been the driving force behind the special programs in the International Office, has opted for full retirement. I wish her well in her future endeavors and I am sure we will continue to look to her for expertise and advice in this area.

2 McGill Subsidized Laptop Computers

If you missed the recent opportunity to purchase a subsidized laptop computer, please be advised that there will be another subsidy program announced in the fall that will include an Apple laptop package as well as an IBM package.

If you did agree to acquire a laptop in the current round and expect to use this in classroom teaching, please contact me at 7041 and leave your name and the number of the classroom(s) in which you expect to teach so that where possible we can arrange for support (e.g. installation of a replicator port).

Ceiling-Mounted Video/Data Projectors

As you know, in addition to the Jack Cram Auditorium (ED129), the Faculty now has 3 other classrooms with overhead ceiling mounted video/data projectors permanently installed. One more room will be similarly equipped over the summer. This will lessen the load on projectors normally borrowed from Media Services. Please let me know of any difficulties or suggestions you have concerning this equipment.
