There will be a memorial service for the late Emeritus Professor Reginald Edwards on Tuesday, October 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the Birk's chapel, 3520 University.

A reception will follow at the Faculty Club, Main lounge.

Friday, October 5, 2001 is the World Teachers' Day.

Created in 1994 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in the event celebrates its 8th anniversary.

The Canadian Teachers' Federation is endorsing the World Teachers' Day with this year's theme: Teachers building the future.

The Nominating Committe is proposing the following slate for Faculty Committees. Unless otherwise noted, all nominations are for a three-year term, 2001-2004. As well, we do not have nominations for some positions, and request your help in nominating individuals. Nominations for all positions should be submitted to the Nominating Committee by October 10, 2001. If elections are necessary, they will be held the following week.

A nomination form is appended. Nominations, questions, comments should be sent to Gill Rejskind.
