| Call for Proposals - EGSS Conference
EGSS Conference
Thomson House, McGill University
November 2-3, 2001
Shifting Sands: Knowledge in our Changing World
The conference will engage multiple communities in dialogue on teaching and learning in todays world. Multicultural, multi-modal, and multi-perspective approaches to research force us to ask key questions such as: What constitutes knowledge in todays world? How do we give value to knowledge? What do we value as knowledge? How may new technologies and resources allow us to share knowledge in accessible, meaningful and democratic ways with local and global communities?
We invite graduate students, faculty members, teachers and other practitioners to participate in this forum. Graduate students in the Faculty of Education at McGill University (i.e.: The department of Integrated Studies in Education, Educational and Counselling Psychology, Physical Education and, Library and Information Studies) as well as members from other Faculties and/or Programs at McGill and in other Universities, organizations or schools are most welcome to submit their proposals. Students who are in the midst of working on all project, thesis or practicum are also welcome to present their work in progress.
Our theme encourages a variety of topics and forms of presentations; our conference locale allows for different combinations and permutations (such as poster sessions, panels, roundtables, performances, displays, etc.) and we invite people to be as creative as possible in their submissions. Please submit a 200 word abstract and a short bio-sketch by September 7, 2001.
