Term Paper

The purpose of this term paper is to allow you to explore in depth a particular area concerning consciousness or virtual reality/cyberspace.

Assignment:

Prepare a term paper  in which you discuss one of the following:

1. Bucke's argument for Cosmic Consciousness.

2. A Critique of Sheldrake's Hypothesis of Formative Causation.

3. The work of Stanislav Grof

4. Applications of Virtual Reality in Education

 5. Altered states of consciousness

6. Research paradigms in the study of consciousness and/or VR.

7. The contributions of Teilhard de Chardin and/or Frank Tipler

8. The metaphor of cyberspace
 

Your paper should be double­spaced, typewritten, approximately 20 pages in length, referenced in APA (American Psychological Association) format (a summary of APA format is available on the course web page under notes), and submitted in an appropriate (Duo­Tang style) folder. The title page should contain the title of your paper, your full name, student number, course number, and date.
 

Papers will not be returned. Students are advised to keep a copy of their paper.
