Professor Gary Edward Torbit
(1917-August 14, 2005)



Peacefully and surrounded by his loving family, in his sixty-sixth year, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal Sunday August 14, 2005. Predeceased by his wife Nancy Torbit (nee Little), Gary will be forever in the hearts of his four "girls" Stacy (David), Jacqueline (Timothy), Meghan and Lindsey. His humour and opinions will be greatly missed by his sisters-in-law Mary and Cathy, and brothers-in-law Rob, Ron and Bill. Son of Don (deceased) and Amy Torbit (nee Mattson) Kelowna, B.C. Grandfather to Emily, Allie, Carly, Colin and Zara. Gary was born in Claresholm, Alberta and educated at the Universities of Calgary and Alberta, Gary moved to Montreal in 1973 to become a Professor at McGill University where he taught educational psychology for 30 years.
