What was the steamer like that Dorwin and his party sailed from Montreal to Lanoraie for the opening of the Industry Village and Rawdon Railroad in December 1852?

There have been several steamers named Jacques Cartier but the following seems to be the one that most closely fits the dates of Dorwin's voyage.

The Jacques Cartier was built in by D. & J. McCarthy at the William Henry  yard in Quebec City.  Constructed in 1848, she was was a Carvel, 168.3 feet long with a beam of 24.1 feet, a depth of 8.1 feet and weighed 78,54 tons.

She had one deck, round stern, no gallery, no figure, two masts and was propelled by steam.

In 1860 she sank and broken up near Quebec City.
