The tombsone read: 1720 was born Jedidiah Hubbell, who died the 11th of August 1819.

This was Jedediah Hubbell Dorwin's grandfather on his mother's side after whom he was named.  He was born in 1720 and grandson Jedediah remembered meeting him when he was 92. He described it this way:
 

This was my grandfather from whom I take my name, I saw him in 1813 when in Lanesborough.  He was then a hale hearty old man of 92 years of age, my father was with me at the time, when he introduced me as the son of his daughter Mary.  The old Gentlemans [sic] eyes sparkled with delight and said is it possible, that this is young Jedediah. I shall never forget the honour of shaking hands with the old gentleman at that time, but when I feasted with him a few days after it was with sadness as he bid me the last good bye.

He died six years later on the 11th of August 1819.
