I suspect he is the Joseph Tiffin who with his father John & brothers John Junior & George arrived at Rawdon 1821 and are mentioned on the 1831 census. They were located on 400 acres at 6 / 18 & 19. Letters Patent granted in 1835. Joseph and George held 100 acres at 6 S 19. Joseph Tiffin became a prominent businessman in Montreal and had a building at 387-389 Notre Dame West which he built in 1872 and still stands.
