Japanese atrocities at sea. Refers to Foreign Office letter of 30th June (F 3083/10/23) and states that the position of the attack and sinking of s.s. Ascot can be described as approximately 8 degs. 10's, 62 degs. 10'E



JAPAN - F: 1758 10 April 1944

Japanese atrocities at sea. Report from Aden stating that survivors have supplied further proofs of atrocities committed by the Japanese. After they had been torpedoed a merchant ship they mutilated the captain and members of the crew and threw them back into the sea; life boats were machine-gunned and only eight escaped out of the crew of fifty-six.
